what sort of suspension are you after? coilovers or lowered springs

what sort of brakes are you after? brembos or a set of new pads?

what sway bars are you after? whiteline or some nice JDM gear?

Coilovers would be nice, I want to keep the height as close to stock as possible.

Brembos would be nice really but I am just after something bigger though.

Swaybars I've got no clue with, what would you recomoned?

On a 2.0R? Are you planning to track your car?

Possibly, the understeer (hope its the right term) is starting to get to me and the springs are almost gone so i figured i might as well make it a bit more "fun" since I'm going to have this for the next 4 years.

Meh I know its a extremely stupid idea but there's not alot more i can do to this car in terms of power gains. Unless you know some way?? I admit brembos would be over done, slotted rotors and a good set of pads would be more than enough.

Yup, it's called getting the turbo version!

I think what everyone is trying to hint at is that the 2.0 N/A platform is not the best to be doing power and braking mods. Suspension mods, sure, that's understandable. But unless you plan to chuck a turbo in it, it's really a weak investment.

I admit brembos would be over done, slotted rotors and a good set of pads would be more than enough.

That would be the case but here you're inquiring about something bigger than the 4-pot/2-pot Brembo setup.

However in the end, it's your car and you can do whatever you want with it. Just ignore the nay-sayers as we're just a bit surprised. :D

You could always try to upgrade your brakes to the GT or 3.0 brakes. They're much bigger, being 316mm compared to the 2.0R's 289? 288? can't quite remember.

Between you and castek, you'll be building a Liberty 2.0i/2.5i with more power/handling/braking, but without the comfort features of the GT/3.0R but it'll cost more...!

Hahaha but since I got the car for $10k Im prepared to spend a bit on it and plus I need to make it a bit less mind numbing to drive. Even to me what castek is doing is pointless.

The GT 316mm and 290mm brakes are more then enough and 1/4 of the price, have you been in a car with them? Trambled all over my previous subaru brakes.

Them and front and rear sway bars and lowered springs and itll be great.

I have no problem with the guy's car choice, it obviously fits the two most important criteria for a P-plater: It was cheap, and it's not illegal for a P-plater to drive it. I'm pleased he's "cutting his teath" on a Lib, instead of a RiceCar Silvia/Integra or similar. And I think a p-plate car with much better brakes/suspension than power is a great idea :).
There must be a whole heap of bits he can put on it now, that will easily transfer to a GT/RB once he has an open license. By then, he'll be very familiar with the chassis, and can handle the extra power.
I'm thinking:
R-B calipers, slotted discs, performance pads ?
Coilovers ? Or Billies/Teins/camber top mounts/caster LCA bushes ?
HD Adjustable rear sway bar ? Just bushes/links on the front one (coz they're not interchangeable)?
Then tart it up with big rims/tyres (which will last forever with no power, LOL), front grille, rear spoiler ?
(Edit: more diplomatic version :))

Ok last post was less than constructive.

Start with buying a set of semi slicks. This will be the single biggestb handling and braking modification you will ever make.

Follow it up with removing the front sway bar. If you're not happy now, sell and upgrade to a GT or 3.0 so its worth spending money on.
