Could always do something like this

Not required at all...
I have Neuton NT 5000 235/35R19's on my car and they are awesome... very happy with them for wet and dry weather street driving...
Cost under $1000 for the set!
No need to spend huge dollars on tyres for a street car imo...

For day to day work commute, a cheap decent tire can go a long way. I mean it's nice to have a track developed tire for the occassional spirited driving on the street, but non-premium brands will do the job for most instances.
