Noise from suspension?

Postby speedcrush » Wed Mar 11, 2015 10:42 pm

Hi all, I'm a newbie on the forum so please enlighten me if you could :)
I wonder if anyone encounter the same issue as me. I own an MY08 Liberty GT Tuned by Sti (equipped with Bilstein shocks and STi spring). There's a slight knocking noise coming from my suspension everytime I started to move the car. Usually occurred on my first use of the day. The noise will become most prominent when I press the brake pedal but it will then completely disappear. I don't believe it's a big mechanical issue as I've had it thoroughly inspected in the workshop. Although there's no noticeable performance issue I still wish to know what's going on though as it is mildly annoying.

Would be grateful if anyone can shed some lights on this...

Try a google search of the forum if using the built-in search doesn't work.

Like this: https://www.google.com.au/search?biw=32 ... lXjY&pbx=1

Do the basics first:
check for wheel, wheel bearing or suspension component failure including arms, rods and top bearings.
If not it's usually the strut body requiring regreasing.
My firm recommendation: buy a set of Shockworks coilovers and enjoy the car you wanted to buy.
Test drive mine in Melbourne :)
