Gen4 Brakes

Postby Shiv » Thu Jan 22, 2015 3:07 pm

Hi all,

Do the brakes from the Gen4 GT/3.0R fit the Outback's? I would assume so, however the DBA website does not list the GT/3.0R brakes as "alternate parts" indicating that maybe they are not interchangeable...??

Mine is an MY08 3.0R but for some reason, they fitted the Outback 3.0R's with 294mm rotors instead of the 316's like the Lib's got.

Any advise would be appreciated. Worth the extra coin for the T3 rotors or are the advantages negligible?

If you've got 294mm rotors then that is what the 2.5i got. You would need to change your calipers and rotors to the ones from a GT in order to use the GT pads.

Really worth doing. Usually you can buy them second hand for under $400 if you're not in a rush. They come up on eBay from time to time.

I've got a set of GTB brakes (calipers and rotors) sitting in a drawer in my garage at present. I'd consider selling them. :)

Great well I'm looking to get the brakes done hopefully within the next month or so.

May very well get in contact :-)
