Bilstein Upgrade still something not right...

Hi fella's

Put some JDM Bilsteins and Pink's in my 04 GT wagon, she's a bit rougher than i was expecting, but thats just me betting old!

on the last couple o drives, i've been thinking, she has 221k on her, and the Billies have less than 10k on em, are they performing too good for other warn out bushes?

at the same time i put in a whiteline ALK and a rear (front) control arm bush kit.

I'm aiming my suspicion at the front and specifically the rear diff mounts...

am i onto something or what else could i look at?

Iirc jdm bilsteins have firmer damping.
Maybe give them time to break in
Lets see 10K up to 10yo so they must have been sitting around for a while...
Plus the STi pinks are firmer than stock by around 1kg iirc.

When I bought my 30RB, I thought it was very stiff for a factory car compared to the GenIII RX and mine does not have the pink springs.

Nah Jas... black boring KYB's probably pretty comfy brand new... but this thing now handles like a sled! no body roll, and thats with factory sways ( for now)

i'm going to look at the OEM diff bushes, gearbox and engine mounts, i think its all working poorly with shocks that are working well...

Nope, the "B" in 3.0RB and "Spec.B" is widely accepted to stand for "Bilstein" - it's the main point of differentiation between a GT and a GT Spec.B (there are some other minor differences that are generally trim levels). The TbSTI models (in Australia at least) were "built" from Spec.B cars.

I have the same suspension in my 3.0 Wagon, and want to get rid of the sti pinks to get a slight lowered spring with a good ride quality. If anyone can recommend brands Tein etc.

(My next mod will probably be Whiteline swaybars and sti brake pads.)

now i have fitted some brand new tyres and am not running on a set that was manufactured in the 46th week of 2009... the combo is firm, but much MUCH more tolerable... handles like a dream and grip! oh it grips... sometimes gotta remember i got the kid in the back... lol
