slotted rotor orientation (Dixcel SD) & brake fluid quantity

This is something I bad always wondered before buying rotors. Ill probably be getting them through Phat so will ask his recommendations

I rang GT... they said it doesn't really matter, but you get longer pad life from fitting them in the 'forward' direction (slots pointing downwards towards the front of the car) - but that for street use it wouldn't be that different. A track car might chew the pads up fairly quickly when fitted in the 'reverse' direction (but stopping performance will be better). This applies to Dixcel rotors - other brands are different...

When people say "facing forward" - I assume you mean the slot hitting the caliper first on the inside of the rotor... as per "forward rotation" shown in this picture?

Mine were fitted the other way around, and I find the rears vibrate when braking down a steep hill... going to get them swapped to "forward rotation" today I think...

When I said 'facing forward' I meant as shown in the above diagram for 'reverse' instalation, so the opposite of your description. Mine however are installed in the usual 'forward' direction as shown above mostly because the mechanic who installed them absolutely could not believe that dixcel recommended the opposite.
