tein street flex help

Postby stocko » Sat Jun 28, 2014 3:28 pm

hey guys so basically i have an 05 gt and im finally getting her dropped. im getting my suspension done at s technic in perth and theyve given me a few quotes and specs the tein street flex seems the way to go. ive been told i get a 35mm drop. i have myself a set of 19 inch advan conissuers and im just wandering is 35 going to be enough to make those wheels sit pretty in the guards or should i look for some adjustables so i can sort the heights out better. any opinions on the streetflexs are welcome cheers

Tein street flex is a coilover kit, correct? Coilovers are adjustable which means you pick the height.

Tein Street Flex is a coilover:

http://www.tein.com/products/street_flex.html

"The Street Flex damper is the evolution of our popular Type Flex coilover. Developed to provide the ultimate balance of comfort and performance for both street driving and circuit use, along with wide-range damping force adjustment using our new Advance Needle technology and new damper valving specs, giving the driver a much more noticeable feel in damping force change and controllability. The shortened shell case design provides optimum damper stroke at lower than standard vehicle ride height. Full-length adjustability offers separate spring preload and ride height adjustment. Updated internal components and external coatings increase durability and product life. Includes Pillowball Upper Mounts (camber adjustable for strut type applications) and is compatible with the EDFC and EDFC Active systems."

They may start at 35mm lower than stock, and then go lower?

Flex's go low - like really low.
You can wind the body of the shock through the 'knuckle' to get it lower than just winding the springs.

If your just driving around on the street, get some BC BR's and save a decent amount of money.

Cut the springs if all you want is a drop.

Why spend dollars when a hacksaw achieves the exact same thing. All you want is some herra frush.

Why dont you fit some smaller brakes, 15" enkei RG's or speedlines, a hard gravel rally tyre, some 50mm DMS/proflex/reiger/MCA/bilstein/Fox struts and raise it up 4 inches....Gutters, roundabouts, crossing those sand islands on the tonkin....

Errbody wanna be low
