HSD Coilovers in a Liberty GT Wagon

Postby EOS Heritage » Wed May 07, 2014 12:40 pm

Hi Fella's

been searching for a set of coilovers locally in Bunbury WA...

can get things in but all seem to be way over priced... ( $1800 for a set of BC's!! ) don't wanna do pedders...
have found a set of HSD's from a local performance shop, $1450 + $180 for fitting and $45 for wheel alignment ( i'd say more like $100 for AWD)

anyhow price and all the associated is great... what i want to know, is anyone using the brand?
i have heard of the product before, and see they have a good name, but looking on their website, they only list the Impreza... i know there is a degree of interchangeability amongst the 2 fraternities, but when shelling out this much cash and considering the safety of my family who'll be in the car with me... i want this to be perfect....

thoughts??

Jon.

Around $1100 will get you BCBR coilovers.
Street to track in vendors has the best price going I'm pretty sure.
Many guys running them and bang for buck are as good as it gets.

From trawling various forums, HSD are a reasonable step up in ride quality and you will pay more for them.
Not sure if there is a liberty specific setup or not.
Impreza coilovers will be wrong due to increased weight/size.

Thanks for the feedback mate...

I called the Australian distributor, and they say there is a model. For the BP liberty wagons.. But why is that it listed on the website... Hmm... Might need to contact hsd themself...

I've been quoted $1450 for the coil overs and 180 for fitting and. $45 for wheel alignment... But expect that to be more as it's awd...

So dollar wise, it's not bad... I've heard they are better than the BC's... So I guess it'd be nice if the manufacturer said there was a model to suit...

AWD shouldn't impact wheel alignment costs unless the $45 was only to align the front wheels - FWD and RWD cars require 4 wheel alignment as well.

yeah when he called back today i queried the wheel alignment, yep $45 for an AWD... every time i've been anywhere for one, you say subaru, its $90-100 every time!

i'm sorted in getting the HSD's.. Monopro model... however, its a 4-6 week wait!! special order from where ever they are made... ( korea i think )

Here's hoping mate...

I'm a newspaper photographer, so i cover some KM! and over all surfaces... but i do like a sporty ride... the OEM stuff in her now has 216k on it... everything else on her is great..
being a new dad, priority is getting something that is safe and pulls up in a hury if i ever needed too...
