swaybar

Postby BATMAN87 » Thu Mar 24, 2011 7:54 pm

hi guys,

just getting my modding into gear, i'm after a rear swaybar for my 3.0rb so i can stop the sagging/ roll at the rear end around bends. ive been reading up abit on this topic, but just can't get my head around things.

what do i need when, purchasing the swaybar, do i need to buy end links or does the standard parts fit all aftermarket bars, also would i need to by additional hd mounts? if so where can i get these.

can anyone suggest me a list on what i need and / or a place they recommend in Sydney.

cheers, Bayram

just as a quick thing.

you can use your OEM endlinks.

i'm not sure what you mean by HD mounts... so.. sorry :p

strongly recommend that you get the mount brackets if you upgrade sways & endlinks.

I thought the short answer was: "It depends on how big you plan to go with the swabar" ?
Standard endlinks/mounts cope with a mild increase (Eg 20mm, like I think the JDM GTBs) but much bigger, and you risk endlink failure ?

Im running a Cusco rear sway non-adjustable. they come with the bushes that attach to the body mounts. its not mandatory that you have the heavy duty mounts but its peanuts and would benefit that much more if you go them. also this applies to the end links as well as the OEM Subaru ones are ridiculously thin, but you would get better feel with HD end links.

oh awesome stuff guys,
thanks for the info, on the swaybar, i was really keen on getting one last week, but with the clutch crapping its self on me, i had to hold off this at the moment, till i save up my coins again.

i was talking to a guy from Kmac suspension in rockdale a while ago, i think he quoted me around $365 for rear bar made at any size (recommended 20mm) + he will make up the hd mount brackets and have it installed.
you reckon that sounds ok for that price?
