Which suspension??

First thing I do to my bikes if they have progressive springs is to put them into the bin and get some linear ones in there. Makes it much easier to get the valving right.

Funny, the Kayaba forks on my old 600 didn't need any spring/valvine changes. Just needed a good injection of talent

Once you start going quickly you'll feel the difference of linear springs

I used to ride that thing quite hard and never went past the capabilities of the stock forks. They were fantastically damped for just about all conditions - track, back road blasting, highway slabbing. Front end feel was never a problem

Out of curiousity what track? and what times were you running? Last sports bike I had was an 01 ZX6R and that was a bit of fun around Eastern Creek when I lived in Sydney. Quickest lap around there on street tyres was 1:45. Got into motards shortly after selling the ZX6. I wish I could move that track up here

Eastern Creek. Would have been running around in 1:55 or something I guess (had not too long before done 2:00 on a VTR250). 'tis a good track though I'd much prefer the island

Hi, out of the three springs that you mentioned below which one would be best suited for some one like me who likes the occasional heavy foot action over roads that vary from very smooth to a wee bit on the rough side and doesnt want the height drop to be at the stage of hearing the tire on the inside of the wheel arch every time I hit a bump?

The car is a 2004 JDM sedan 3R spec b with a few minor mods to make driving it more lively and due to the mods I found the stock springs to be a waste of time even with the cusco rear sway bar on. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Accordingly the consensus is that the Eibach Pro, TEIN S-tech, H&R are pretty much the preferred for a controlled ride.

The Eibach Pro would be great you won't even notice any additional harshness on the bumpiest of roads, and will give a very mild drop ~20mm so you still have plenty of suspension travel.

If I bought the Eibach Pro kit from the US would it still fit seeing that I am JDM or buy it from Import Monster?

How much lower would the H&Rs drop the car, since 20mm doesnt seem like that much of a drop (I really hate seeing the large gap between the top of the tire and the wheel arch at the front of the car) or when the Eibach's go on I would really see a big difference?

the Eibach kit is the same whether you buy it from Aus, Japan or USA. Keeping that in mind the advertised amount of drop is based on the JDM Legacy GT, so if you have the 3.0RB which is heavier at the front, you will have a greater drop. I would expect around 10mm or more over the GT.

Don't forget the more you reduce the fender gap the less suspension travel you have. Check the thread in my signature I have a mild drop, the ride is firm but very compliant and soaks up big bumps easily.

Hmm, I didnt realise that the setup of the car having the large fender gap at the front really made that much of a difference to ride stability. I prefer how your car looked with the swift springs on stock shocks, thats the exact height that I am looking for. But if having a some what large front fender gap allows me to take corners faster then so be it.

generally on the road it is ideal to have as much suspension travel as possible if the aim is to have good handling and grip. Low ride heights is only good for cosmetics or for super smooth race tracks.

I've had a low car before and I kept going through sets of bump stops at the front since they were working ovetime.

Do the Eibach springs with above model number fit your wagon?? The eibach website only quoted them for sedan fitment??
