I paid under $2k for front and rear calipers and rotors with STi lines, secondhand. Came off an STi. Don't pay over $1K for a set of four calipers.

The only things you need after that are rear anchors and either a DBA rear rotor, or custom made handbrake shoe. I went for the handbrake shoe option because I can use STi rotors, which gives more options for upgrades.

That endless stuff is yum.

Horrendously over sized for what we need on the road and for the track for that matter (unless you are continually pulling the car down from 300km/h)

But oh so yummy. I'd get them even if I had to bin the rotors.

They are very nice looking bling, but you actually use them and they die! Same as 4-pots.
The factory brembos are also bloody heavy!! AP would be my pick, or MU's.

More details please?????

My Brembo's have performed well on tracks days, no fading or glazing and pedal feel was also firm.
I got mine of my old bugSTi that was writen off and cost very little to buy back.

When the brakes start to change color, throw them in the bin.
They have been hot, they are not Monoblock, and warp in middle.
can tell easily on the slotted rotors, as they wear in one spot and not much in the others.
color doesnt change on the 4-pots that i am aware of as the brembos do. they go brown color.
but both suffer the uneven slot wear when fugged.

so, without upgrading the wheel package from a stock GT,

what other options are there???? just rotors and pads and keep the calipers the best bet???

Unless you are planning on tracking it hard, I reckon pads and a fluid flush is about all you will need. Rotors I think would be the next step though there is a good argument for matching pads and rotors. The twin pot sliding calipers on the front of the GT (and 3RB) are fine for everything the car will be asked to do on the road

There's not a great deal of choice if you don't want to keep the stock wheels. Almost all big brake kits will need more wheel/spoke clearance. Might be able to get away with the low profile calipers from an early Ferrari/Lotus though.
