I have the semi auto TBSTI wagon and am thinking definately a 3" exhaust and possibly a slightly bigger turbo. I see the gearbox as the limiting factor and was wondering if anyone had a recommended Max power figure

not sure if any auto's have gone an aftermarket turbo...... yet.

what are your plans for the car? tracking, draging etc etc

Well, not the 2.5T. But on the 2.0T you had swingn, Louey, and libsti.

The EJ25T Liberty's have a slightly upgraded 5sp auto when compared with the EJ20T Liberty's (Revised torque converter I believe).

Anything around the 300hp mark (223.71 kw) at the wheels & you'll be sweet... Mind you, to get there is not an easy task & you'll be looking at:

New Turbo
New TMIC or FMIC
Fuel System upgrades
TBE

& the list goes on...

From what I've heard, the auto boxes have been able to handle around the 250kw ATW's... But the torque converter really doesn't like it & will be pretty sloppy on the gear changes. That being said, that was in the EJ20T Lib, so with the revise torque converter in the newer models, you may be ok... Only one way to find out

About 200-220awkw, that's what I was told.

different box Jim. The EJ2.0T would hold gears unlike the box used ej25t

^^^ Pretty sure that's more of a computer thing... Just like the throttle blip on down shifting the in face lifted 3RB.

Of course... I could be wrong Modified EJ20T Libs are much more common due to the manuals limited availability in the Pre-face lift Gen 4's.

Can take a good beating. Pretty tough gear box.

If you want a avo 450 will sell my cheap good for 235 @ 18psi.

I'm going to be looking at around 300kw now.
