Hey All,
What dump pipes have you come across for the 07 GT?

Any info will be great, pics even better :)

Thanks,

Hey Mike,
Please keep me posted on this and when possible send thru some pics comparing the std one to the ones your making. I take it that this will be a 3" pipe ?

Thanks,
Mo

Hey Mo

yes it will be a 3" due to it being a 2.5L

but will taper down as it joins the factory joint as did your fujitsubo exhaust on your old lib GT to make it a bolt on

This is a worthwhile mod that wont damage your ears but does allow the turbo to spool up quicker.

Good price too, mine was $800 fitted.

Cool, nice thinking on the taper Mike but at the same time wonder if there will be a bottle neck effect at that point ? Still should be minimal i think if its a smooth taper.

I've kept my exhaust off the old GT for the new one :)

Bye,
Mo

This may sound really stupid guys, but for the mechanically challenged readers, can u explain the difference between a dump pipe versus extractors?

Extractors / exhaust manifold is attached to block and would 'feed' turbo, whereas dump pipe is directly after turbo.

Just to expand on that - the extractors(aka - headers, aka - exhaust manifold) extract the exhaust gases from the cylinders and in a NA car join up to the rest of the exhaust system.

In a turbo car, the extractors still extract the exhaust gases but then send them over a turbine (exhaust side of the turbo) so that the turbo can spin to make boost pressure to compress the air from the air filter and force feed the cylinders. Once the exhaust gasses have spun the turbine, the leave the turbine thru an attached pipe - this is the dump pipe and it connects up the rest of the exhaust system.
