Invidia Exhausts

Hi all.

I am looking to get an Invidia Q300 cat back exhaust from the US. Has anyone had any experience with this brand before? I believe there is a new model out this month and Im just waiting on prices from a supplier in the US.

The other option I am considering is a HKS Silent Hi-power cat back, but these are substantially more expensive.

Basically I want an exhaust that is not boomy, but noticable enough when I want to have some fun :D

I'm driving an MY07 GT, thoughts?

Cheers!
Gav

Mate fitted an Invidia twin system or what ever theyre called to his 350Z (joins into single muffler at rear of zed, no resonators, cat back) and it bolted straight in no problems, was decent quality I thought, polished rear mufler and burnt titanium tips, and sounds great, was like a skyline sound (skylines 2.5 turbo straight 6, 350z 3.5 NA V6) until he put twin turbos in , now it just growls. Yep still has it fitted since 2005, suits his car perfectly. I remember he imported from the states and had to wait a while for customs to clear it, and he had to pay duty on it. Other wise all good, if I had a Zed I wouldnt hesitate to throw it on, it sounds beautiful.

Thanks for the responses guys.

I am pretty keen to try these out, something a little different too. Will hopefully have it ordered this week, once I get it I'll post up some pics and info.

Just need to get it through customs

Seen these on legacy gt, one issue I have with them is just how big the muffler body is. It's MASSIVE (hope im talking about the right one here). The PHAT quads were big, but these invidia ones are bigger yet, and I had issues with scratching and damaging when using the PHATs. Just my 2c

Thanks for the replies. I am not too sure about the exact size, although they say the Q300 has a flatt bottom to keep the stock look. Hopefully I wont have any issues with scraping the muflers.

I got some good news from Customs though, items under $1,000.00AUD (exlcuding shipping costs) are exempt from customs duties and GST. Spoke with them and its all smooth sailing from their end. (touch wood :D)

I've placed the order with a supplier in the US and now its just a waiting game, hopefully I'll take delivery within 2-3 weeks.

Once fitted I've give an update. Happy to be the guinea-pig

Cheers!

It will be interesting to see how it fits up to your dump, with the steering knuckle and master cylinder being on the other side in the US models. I'm not sure whether that will have an effect on a cat-back fitment. I wish you well.

Thanks Jaz, this is my only concern.

From what I have researched the exhaust from the cat back is the same layout. But until it arrives I wont know for sure. Bit of a risk I know, but hopefully it will be ok, or only require minimal modfication.

Cheers!

Hi all.

Exhaust arrived on Monday (31 May), left the US on 26 May, now that's some fast delivery!

Will have a look at installing it on the weekend, but first impressions are good. Mufflers are not too much bigger than the stock ones and the finish is high quality.

Will post pics when its on.

Cheers!

Done!

Got it fitted up on Sunday arvo. And I am very, very pleased to say that it was millimetre perfect! I had one or two minor troubles but after swearing a bit it all got fixed and sorted.

The sound. Exactly what I wanted, its quiet on cruise revs, but makes anough noise to let you know its on there.

The Drive. Its very smooth to drive. Revs out a little better and the power feels to come on just that litle bit more.

The fit and finish. Awesome.

I also installed a HKS panel filter and you can just hear the BOV pumping air back into the intake, bit of wank value, but I like it.

So I can now happily plug www.aqmotorsports.com and confirm that their service was excellent and plug invidia exhausts as a nice piece of gear.

I will get some pics up in the next week or so.

Cheers!
Gav

Good to hear it fitted and is performaing as expected. I think a few people will be jumping on this (even with the USD not what it was) cause its a good buy.

Im looking forward to catching up to see the end result and hear the story of the install.
