GTBR46 (of 50) - Now Tuned

Finally got around to having the exhaust finished. Now has Phat Dump, Phat mild steel quads, and a 3"mild steel centre with two resonators, one as big and as long as we could fit, and the other jammed in at the finish.

For the record, I had the centre made up by "Powatone" in Canberra. Im up there for work at the moment. I remember I had them build a custom system for a rotary rx 7 15 yrs ago, and they did a good job then. They did a great job now to. 30% cheaper than two other quotes for the same work, did it next day, did it well. Two thumbs up from me.

Then, I had it tuned. Hadnt decided between Vin at STI, and Paul at Pulse in SYdney....well, I was in Canberra, so what can i say. Made the short trip to Syd on Friday, droppe it off at 8am, picked it up at midday, put the cruise on, all the way back to Melb.

So, with exhaust fitted, "before dyno" yielded about 145kw, with the stock curves (and stock torque....missing somewhere:))
After, 190.2 kw. ABout a 50% increase in torque as well and a much nicer curve....much much much more fun to drive.

Also, fuel economy, Intelligent mode, Canb to Syd - 9.8l/100km. After Pauls Tune, Syd to Canb 8.4l/100km. I cant compare the city drive fuel economy yet....dont think its fair when all I can do at the moment is ask Mr. Sulu for Warp 9 at every opportunity.

But...very happy with Pulse racing, happy with the tune, happy with the service, happy with the people.

Update - After a weekend of driving in Melbourne, about 200km, including suburbia, the Monash, stop start on Princess Highway etc, im averaging about 13.0l/100km....INCLUDING demanding Scotty "giving me everything she's got" on every on ramp, off ramp, quiet street, trafficd light...you know the drill. Ive gone from thinking this is a comfprtable, practical, pretty good looking car that I quite like, to loving this car!
