Its probably because you drive with your foot flat to the floor so you can hear the new mufflers  In all seriousness, i didnt notice any hike in fuel economy when i fitted mine..

Maybe you left a bolt inside the muffler lol. In all seriousness check the bolts and flanges to make sure they are on properly. Especially check the gaskets and that a bolt is through each of the two holes (maybe one slipped and is now hanging across the air flowpath and causing heaps of restriction).

Like Woodduck I noticed SFA difference on my fuel economy; just better sound and throttle response :D

If anything your car should be running a bit more efficiently being more breathable and better flow. But the fact that you're 'enjoying' them means you're driving like a madman around town. Because if you don't have any other mods, you can't really hear and enjoy them unless you stomp the pedal. :D

mmm well i have checked everything bolts gaskets and they are fine, haha and no bolt inside the muffler.
its running really well so i dont see why it would be using lots of fuel..

Brad,

Mine went from 9.4 to 10.4 after the PHAT's were fitted. I think it is a function of the right foot (subconsciously) coz it sounds better when driven harder. . It's now back to 10.

I reckon I drive worse (for economy) with the stock cans on it than with the Phats. Simply because I can hear the car reacting to my throttle inputs with the Phats but not with the stockers. At least that's the way it was for a week or so when I had swapped back
