OEM Sti SHORT SHIFT for GT Spec B 6 MT

Postby GTB Liberty » Thu Jun 18, 2009 1:16 pm

Can anyone with the above Short Shift kit give their opinion of it in comparison to standard. I am considering purchasing via the group buy.

Any opinion would be greatly appreciated.

All the tuned by sti Lib have this item. shorter throw is exactly what you get, I rate it reasonable good compared to others I have used such as the Kartboy. No idea about how are it is to install as I have only ever done this mod on WRX and that was pretty easy. Well worth having in my mind.

as mentioned above...

i have a kart boy short shifter in my WRX STI and its the best mod i have ever done

reduces the throw by a couple of inches and the stick itself as well.

The factory kit is alot more expensive then the kart boy .

No BS guys the kart boy shifter in conjunction with a new set of bushes (must have) to stiffen the stick up
work an absolute treat.. Im sure the OEM kit would do the same but its hugely more expensive

i think i paid $US approx $250 ... even fitted it myself.. the reverse lockout pin for the 6 speed is a bit of a bugger but otherwise its quite easy to do

Well group buy is $440 (plus whatever cost install) being 30% odd cheaper than Subaru RRP.

Sway bars, front strut or short shift. So many options ;)

I think I'd prefer to keep it an OEM shift. Anyone else? GFB kits around?

So far:

Sti OEM = 1
Kartboy (approx $320 AUD) = 1

i remember these being a $1,500 factory option
the kart boy was only the stick and bushes..

as i said before this is the best mod ever.

Ive had mechanics drive my car and even they have mentioned to
me that the stick feels awesome... no slackness and really slick inthe changes.

its a must if you have some spare coin.

the bushes tighten up the slackness so just dont do the stick only.
