Calling all "Tuned" MY07+ Liberty GT AUTO Owners

Postby suff » Wed Jun 10, 2009 6:40 pm

Hi Guys,

In the process of having my Liberty tuned, looking to gain as much information as possible from others tuning experience with the Auto Box.. we did some initial runs today to find that the torque convertor will never maintain a predictable output, with upto 1500rpm variance, making calibration very hard!

If you have had your MY07+ Auto GT ECU Tuned (using the stock Subaru ECU, not a haltech or alike) please let me know :)

Cheers

Chris

It'll be like that, the Subaru auto doesn't have a torque converter lockout. Just a design fault.

That's why the dyno can't be graphed based on rpm, can only be graphed on speed. The rpm fluctuates a lot, esp around 5500rpm.

Oh, and the fourth gear... goes to 240km/h

Actually 4th goes off the tacho :).. spot on with the 5500rpm issue though.. mine goes nuts at 5450rpm

Neither I nor the tuner have tuned an Auto before.. its going to be a steep learning curve.

Dave - out of interest, what AFR's are you running (stock and tuned)

Talk to AVO, they've done a 07 GT with >200kW ATW that's an Auto.

Pretty sure they've got the stated issues sorted.

I know the owner of that car. It's a black one, owned by Steve.

I'll see what I can find out from him.

Yep, that's the one. Apparantly quite a fun car now. :-) And it's being held back to protect the auto box and engine internals I believe.

Stock was all over the joint 10's and up to 14's...after Sean tuned it 11.2 across the board.

AVO420s (I think)
AVO TMIC
Fuel pump
ECU reflash
Exhaust
Intake

That's all from memory.

Whatever performance mods AVO have for the Liberty, he has. So the list Craig wrote sounds about right.

With a 420, I think you could probably add a set of injectors to that list as well....
