no probs Gumby, i appreciate the help..

OF COURSE i searched around prior to posting, but like gumby mentioned, i could only find advice on pre-facelift models, and i have heard of others having this issue, so thought i would start a thread on it..

thanks for the advice Jim, i got an appointment with denlo subaru tomorrow morning, it will be interesting to see what the issue is since a couple of us can relate...

i will be sure to let you guys know..

anyone know how i can access the diag connector to get the error code being logged?

When I had my MY05 GT I didn't have any issues with Denlo.

ok i just dropped off my car at Denlo Subaru this morning..

I was impressed with there triage routine in order to process all the cars..
i was delegated my own representive, and offered a lift to work, but the real outcome will be determined once i pickup my car this arvo..

fingers crossed they dont complain about mods

Nice one!

So I'm guessing after almost 48 hours the CEL is still there? Let's hope it isn't while they check the car that it conveniently disappears

light is still there when i dropped it off.. and i was sure to point it out before i left because after what Jim mentioned above with his trick to start and stop the car a number of times to make it disappear i was paranoid..

as first predicted they are blaming the CEL light on the after market DP.. saying due to it having only 1 cat and leaking air it has cause this engine light..

anyhow they gave me a CEL code of PO 0420.. and when i look at it in ozliberty it shows:
P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)

but the worst part of it all is they charge me $750 for a 50K service..  blardyyyyyyyy rippp

edit: spelling

ok picked up the car.. car feels like it runs a lot smoothier and they cleared the CEL codes so the engine light has gone away..

they did advise it will come back thou unless something is done to correct the DP.. im not sure what i need to do..maybe it is leaking somewere..

Wot sort of DP (I thought I remember reading somewhere you have a Phat DP - have you asked him what may be causing it?)

yeh i got a phat DP.. but i dont think it has anything to do with his design, but yeh i will discuss with him to see his opinion

it may have something to do with the installation cause i performed it myself to save on install fee.. but i think in the end to avoid the headache i should of just paid the install..

UPDATE: after subaru cleared the codes for me yesterday, upon driving to work this morning.. guess whats back..... yes the engine light is back on again, and my crusie control and sport sharp mode is disabled :(

Hmm, that's pretty strange. Adam, did they check your O2 sensor? I suspect that may be on it's way out. But usually when Subaru has no idea what's causing the problem they will point the finger at the first thing that's not stock standard.

yeh i agree with you Jim.. i know alot of cars have this same DP with no issues, so i never doubted the DP for a second..

Subaru did mention the error codes were NOT complaining about the 02 sensor.. (code P0420) if it was the 02 sensor shouldnt it show code P0131 thru to P0139 ?????

im kinda angry subaru, didnt bother to replace the 02 sensor as a test.. they assume it is the after market mod straight away

Well you're right the code didnt point to the o2 sensor so I guess there was no point in them blindly replacing parts..
