WHICH CAI FOR AN 08 GT-B STi ???

Postby STiLADYLIBERTY » Mon Jan 12, 2009 5:47 pm

Hey all , Wondering about CAI systems and which ones are popular for the 08 GT-B ?

I`m looking at getting Ecutek by Pulse Racing soon and would appreciate the heads up on whats available for the CAI and performance details / intake note/loudness etc !

While on the inlet topic, is there a popular choice of silicon inlet to suit an 08 GT-B ???

Appreciate any advice or specs you can share !
cheers Roddy

Hey ultrablue , thanks for the info .
Did the AFM seal up nicely to the inlet ?
What about heat shielding for this , or is it situated inside the fender ?

Nice intake noise in your opinion ??

nothing flash here, i just have the hks panel filter, prova air guide, zerosports maf pipe and resonator removed...... you can hear slight spooling of the turbo and bov when you back from the throttle........ a little too much noise for me.

Apart from audio gains, my info meters have shown more air and quicker pick up.

it all depends what your after sound????? then a pod is the go.... airth where a you to add your knowledge........

as for parts perrin also make a maf pipe....

Guys

im in the process of having some inlets made.. we are designing it as we speak and hope to have them ready for sale in about 6 weeks. These wont be cheap Chinese product shit. made from USA silicon and re inforced with wire to stop collapse

Ill be selling these with the Short Fat bit for around $320-$350

ill have all colours made.. im just in the final testing of the sample and should be giving the go ahead to the manufacture in around 1 week

I bought an AVO intake and installed it but it made my MAF go a bit crazy and difficult to tune. Had it removed and went back to stock box w/ resonator removed and HKS panel filter. Results were much better and it tuned well. I also have the zero sports tube sourced from Japanparts.

I have an AVO inlet pipe.

Troy, will it be possible to get the Short Fat Bit/MAF pipe separate when these come in??

The Apexi is probably the best value product going around, but I've heard they are a bit loud... But from my experience they are about what you'd expect from having a pod :P

The big question is what are you wanting to get out of this upgrade?

If you want a bit of induction noise & a slight performance gain, then upgrades that senator has done to his car will do the trick.

If you want the best, then look no further then the Blitz CF intake... But there is a reason there is only 5 in the country ;) lol

ive never bothered with CAI... the factory boxes are fine enough..

minimal increase imo for a lot of mucking around in some cases...
