5EAT to 6MT, Wiring diagram

Hey guys, I'm in NZ and have an 2008 NZ New 5EAT 2.5 Spec.b which as I understand is the same as what you guys have in Aus? Has anyone on here got an ECU pinout/wiring diagram for this car and even better, has anyone got experience with manual swapping one to a 6MT? Any reliable help is much appreciated, it has factory cruise control too which I want to retain but I'm not sure if the neutral position switch on the gearbox and the clutch pedal switch is plug and play or requires a good amount of wire splicing. Cheers!

My eldest son has changed a BPE Outback from 5EAT to 6MT.
A bit like what you are trying to do.

His advice is to lock your penis in a vice and smash it with a Hammer.
You will find that more enjoyable.

The bulkhead harness is different between auto and manual, that needs to be changed.
You may also need to change the ABS/VCD system, as they are different between auto and manual.
Change ECU, change body comptuer, change cluster, change steering column and imobilisr system.

By the time you are finished, you have re-shelled a wreck donor manual car into the auto body.
And you also need to fabricate a new rear gearbox mount, as they are different in the BL/BP series.

I know of enough guys who have done it without that level of component swapping, the gearbox crossmember can be resolved with a piece of drilled plate. What I need is the right wiring diagram for 2008.

I did a 5eat to 6mt swap in my 3.0 spec b without door-slamming my wang. It wasn't that bad!

Firstly, download the FSM's for both cars! You have to get the exact manuals which suit your current car and the car which the gearbox is coming from.

Next, the easiest way to do it is by running new neutral, reverse and clutch wires to the ecu, its like 5 wires.. remove the TCU, bypass the inhibitor relay, THEN load a manual ROM onto your ecu. Also you MAY need an ABS unit from a manual car or you will get a check engine light and no cruise control.

I don't know how you would do it without loading the manual ROM onto you current ECU as you have a 2.5i and they never had 6mt's BUT a 5mt rom might work just fine. Find Sick Chips on facebook, he would be the best person to talk to, even if it cost a few 100$'s, it would save you heaps in the long run.

When I did my conversion I used the ECU, cluster, BUI, key barrel, clutch pedal, brake pedal and abs unit from a doner car, the clutch pedal bolts straight in easy.

2.5 turbo not 2.5i. Same Spec.b as what you guys have in Aus but they’re harder to find here in NZ because the import market is flooded with Jap 2L. I spoke with a tuner who is happy to flash it as a manual map but I just need the wiring diagrams so I can wire it up correctly. Has cruise control which is an unknown for me and I don’t know if the auto loom has the necessary plugs for the clutch And neutral position sensor.

Ah sorry, for some reason I had 2.5i in my head..

In that case you're laughing! BUT the loom will not have the plugs for the neutral, reverse, clutch switches. You will have to add them yourself. Plus you will have to find the 1 wire which tells the ecu if it is a manual or automatic car. Check my build thread in the 'post your mods' area, you will need to ground that wire. (after confirming which wire it is in the FSM)

Download the FSM's, they will have your wiring diagrams..

Any chance you'd have a link to the Factory service manuals?
