2010 GT LIBERTY MY11 TRANS ISSUE

Hey guys, we have had a few outbacks and foresters,currently driving a 2016 foz and a 2002 gt foz.
Im looking to upgrade my older foz and always liked the liberty wagons.Ive found a 5gen gt wagon,2.5t my11 but it has a weird issue.
Sometimes at lower end of rev range the trans may slip or clunk but drives fine.The problem is not consistent and apparently can be driven without causing it to fault.
I HAVENT DRIVEN IT YET
Apparently Subaru and outside workshop are saying the ACTUATOR VALVE BODY needs replacing,a fault code comes up but Subaru says its only related?
This car has only done 160,000 kms
Has anyone heard or come across this issue before?
Im thinking a complete trans replacement may be cheaper?
What other models share the same trans?
Any help or starting point would be wild, as we are considering buying if the problem can be sorted cheaper that the quotes ive been shown by owner?
