MY07 GT SpecB head unit display not working

Postby Cakewalk » Mon Jul 01, 2019 1:50 pm

Looking for advice please

The LED heater display has stopped working (cd / radio is ok though). Is this an easy fix or will I need to replace the unit. Where can I get a 2nd hand unit if that is the best option

Not sure about 2nd hand, but if you want to upgrade your stereo AVOJDM sells the replacement DIN assembly with replacement climate control panel cheaper than anywhere else.

https://avojdm.com/dual-zone-av-panel-set-h6217ag911/

If you try and buy the same item locally you'll stuggle to get it under $1k

If upgrading, member hardwarebob has parts and conversion harnesses.
Otherwise look at the diy parts link in my signature...

I’m happy with the oem unit so I’d prefer to go down the second hand route

Will I need security codes for a second hand head unit (McIntosh - PF-2824I)?

I don’t think so, I’ve had mine out a few times without needing a pin.

Back on the head unit again. I have sourced a head unit but the heater aircon controls are slightly different. Will the new work ok in the car? Are there any functional differences between the 2 units.

Existing unit.

Thanks, for plan B suggestion. My plan A is to use the new head unit. I’m trying to find out if it’s compatible with my existing head unit wiring and if the functionality is the same.

Yeah I reckon the new unit is from a car that had rear a/c in the centre console...

That’s my08/09 GT’s iirc.

Perhaps the hvac module can be swapped over?
