ECU Tune/ Upgrade In Sydney

Yo Yo

Ok, I've only had my car for 3 months and already looking for an ECU tune or upgrade. I'm over the delay, make that 2 delays around 3 and agian at 4.5 grand each time I boot it, what is that?

Any recommendations on where I could get a tune in Sydney/Wollongong based on everyones experience? I'm not looking to create a drag car, just a tune that's drivable with a noticable improvement. MRT wanted close to 2 grand! when I called them prior to getting my car

Ow, i have a MY09 GT Wagon, pod filter

Any feedback will be much appreciated, cheers!

mate that lag or stutter is the drive by wire throttle, a good tune will sort this out for you. I believe if you do a bit of searching here you might find some details on options other than MRT/Ecutek flash. Open source flashing of can bus ecu's is starting to become more available. Try Paul @ Pulse Racing from memory I think he is an open source tuner.

Pulse is in Sydney mate. He has tuned a fair few Liberty's from here.

There's a few places around the traps that would be able to do a tune with either ECUtek or OpenECU... Either product will do the same job, infact I'll eventually be going from ECUtek to OpenECU.

http://www.ecutek.com.au/

There's a list of all the ECUtek distributors.

OpenECU is done by places like Pulse (Menai), SAS (Silverwater) etc.

I would personally stay away from MRT. Aside from the fact they charge through the nose, I personally found their customer service & after sales support very poor.

In no way am I bad mouthing their products, I think they are ok (Jap stuff is better ;) ) but just don't deal with them directly.

Sweet! Thanks for the info, I'll make a few enquiries and let everyone know how I go

You're not the first to say that about MRT

Talked to Paul at Pulse (nice guy) and he's asking $1100 for ECU tune (and dyno results). He said up to 30kw at wheels!!! A little optimisic I think but hey if I can get that I'll be stoked

Will get this done after my first service and let all know how it goes. Any other recommendations pls post however

I called Pulse Racing and talked to Paul about a month ago too. I got the same quote and details - using open source software. I plan to do it too, but I need to get some other things sorted first.

It'd be great if you could post up the before/after graphs when you're done.

WOW great gains and price , I wouldnt doubt it that Paul "the magician" Fisher can get that from the OEM setup ! I gained 50% power increase after taking our last car there (MY04 Foz XT). Really nice bloke and knows his $hit !

Sounds like Pulse Racing is a pretty good place to go to. Have been trying to decide whether to go back to Autotech Engineering or try Pulse Racing??

Interested in the results on a MY07 GTB model and onwards.

My previous GT was tuned by him too, very happy.

Be sure to post up the outcome :)

What are you? On the crack pipe? You have a MY07 3.0RB! What are you doing inquiring about a GTB for?
