As above, avcs vvt angles.
Also check cylinder misfires: coil packs or sparkplugs etc at fault.
Inlet, boost and zorst leaks... smoke or soapy water test.

Thanks again for your help Benny

So I'm gonna do a leaks check but I'm just trying to cover all bases before car goes back on the dyno.
The avcs varies the timing based on a number of sensors doesn't it?
Im thinking about replacing all sensors that may be causing my issues. May be a waste of money but all the sensors have a shelf life anyway so if nothing else I'm just replacing them early. Do the cam and knock sensors have an impact as much as the Maf and O2?

avcs uses the cam sensors, but the avcs ocv solenoids wear out or get dirty.
cam sensors seem to be fairly reliable as is the crank angle sensor.
knock sensor is known to become faulty with time. iirc the rubber mount cracks.

Just one last thing, are our oem injectors 565cc? The blue ones.

I've searched pages and pages on the web using the part number and nowhere says the cc rating of them. Unless the part number I was given was wrong (16611AA720)

Iirc it's a 600 ish injector, raise the base fuel pressure with an aftermarket regulator if your tune requires a little more headroom, support that with a bigger pump...

But fixing any leaks or avcs issues would be the thing.
Depending on mileage a new oem front o2 sensor might be a good idea, plus new stock sparkplugs.
Either way keep the tune conservative for postfl longevity...

Look at a compressor map for any vf series and you'll see they're at maximum efficiency around 15-18 psi, any more than that and you're making hot air, compromising your inlet charge.

Spark plugs were changed with NGK platinum 5k ago. Any issues with that?

Make sure you log the car for misfires as well. Twist the pins slightly on the coilpacks to promote continuity, and make sure the clip for the loom is intact. The barb on the clip has a tendency to fail, but a zip tie will suffice to hold it.

Na haven't yet. As I said all ive got is elm wifi to my iPhone so limited functions. I was thinking about tatrix but after seeing the bt device you have I might get that. Just need an android device..

My laptop broke several months back and I haven't bothered replacing it

i know this may sound unrelated, however did the tuner speak of not holding boost?

When I had my VF52 fitted it maxed out at 173kw and not go past about 16.5PSI

turned out the mechanic fitting the turbo put on two hoses from the Boost solenoid arse about.

fixed and retuned - huge difference, even at a conservative 18.5psi

everything you can double check yourself will save you $$$

Thanks for the heads up I'm pretty sure that's fine but will have it checked. Ordered 02 sensors and ACVS solenoids from states just waiting to arrive.

Hey Mate,
Im pushing 183kw atw with turbo back exhaust, silicone air intake hoses and a tune by Michael at MSR. I also had a jerky stutter just before the car came on boost but the tune fixed all of that up. You should really see Michael at MSR.
fyi if it matters i've got 58,000km on the clock.

Who is the tuner?

I make 192kW with stock turbo, stock intake, stock exhaust apart from aftermarket catted Downpipe.
Just tuned for E85 with fuel pump, injectors, 3Port and slightly larger TMIC.

It's better to have a safer power number rather than chase a number and break something. But I'd expect a bit more power than that with your mods. Definitely do some logging to confirm the boost you're reaching, and see if the ECU is pulling timing because of any knock.

Lets not get caught up with numbers here...

182awkw on 98?? at what boost? with what turbo? What dyno? What transmission? (Manual has less loss than the auto)

192awkw on E85 at what boost with what turbo? What dyno? What transmission?

Mine made 211awkw @ ~17 Psi at max RPM (Dyno graph is on my build thread). This is with TBE, W2A int, E85, GTX3071 and Auto trans on Spring performance dyno(Conservative dyno).

Car was by no means a slouch and my boost curve was linear from 2000-4500rpm due to having stock as a rock bottom end with 200k kms.

Oh and It made 211 with the stock CAI just on 300g/sec at 6200rpm
