Hi all,

My car is a MY08 Liberty GT Tuned by STi running an EJ 2.5L Turbo with 6 Speed manual.

For the past couple of months I have been having problems that when I get to about 2500rpm in any gear, it seems to pause with nil power until i hit 3000 rpm
and then it goes hard. As long as I keep the revs above 3000rpm there are no problems.

But here is the kicker, when this happens, I pull over, reset the ECU and then this issue goes away......until it returns. Then we do it again.

Does anyone have any ideas please? I thought maybe a turbo issue or a vacuum hose?

Sounds like it's pulled timing.Reseting ECU clears IAM and FLKC table hence why it goes good for a while. I suggest don't do this till you get it looked at. Get someone with a logging tool to look at it.

the stock sti tunes are really bad
