Hey guys. I recently took Lady Liberty to get an oil leak checked out. Turns out they want me to fork out mega dollars for a new steering pump, cam seals and bluh bluh bluh. They also told me that I have a cracked turbo up pipe and leaking oil return line, however they say it's an aftermarket turbo with aftermarket up pipe so they can't get parts. I'm new to playing with crowded subaru engine bays and could only read that it's a IHI VF46. Any advice would be awesome, cheers.

Can confirm that the up pipe has a leak around the flange weld. Um silly question but does subaru not know how to weld. I don't either as I'm a teacher but really guys! Found the oil leak from a rubber house around the turbo. Guessing that's part of the oil return line. What a mess. Looks like a turbo out anger session. Would give me a chance to assess the condition of the turbo. Would hate to have to upgrade to a VF52. Up pipe repair looks simple enough to remove. Subaru told me they would have to jack the engine to get it out. I'm calling BS on that!

Maybe you could put your VIN into PartSouq database and find out which turbo you vehicle was manufactured with?
And then do a Google Search on the part number?
