Wastegate actuator alignment

Postby AJ RS » Sun Aug 30, 2015 6:03 pm

Q. Is it ok if when installing a new wastegate actuator (turbosmart IWG75) if it's not perfectly in line with the turbo wastegate arm? I installed mine today and it went fairly well however there is slight pressure on the actuator arm to one side so that it could slip over the little arm. It went on by hand ok and I did roughly allow around 1-2mm of pre load but I just thought I'd ask.
Thanks.

You should be able to either "clock" the iwga mount or very slightly bend the mount to get perfect alignment.
But a mil or so off shouldn't create excessive binding...

I wasn't happy with it so I ended up drilling the bracket to allow a more direct alignment by moving it slightly closer to the comp housing. All good now thanks.
