2.5T 95 v's 98 RON ?

Postby scottymc » Tue Aug 05, 2008 10:30 pm

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has 1st hand experience with the performance of this motor using both fuels?

As it is tuned for 95 can you notice any difference using 98 :?:

Thanks.

Interesting question you raise here - other TBSTi owners might respond to this, but my TBSTi has the sticker in the fuel filler door saying it needs 98. Is this purely a TunedBy STi requirement ? That extra 10kw must be pushing it hard

Sorry, don't want to steal your thread - my point is that any tuning looks like it might need 98RON.

Rgds

I wouldn’t touch 95 Ron.. Even with a commodore.. If you do a quick search there are a few treads on here about 98 V’s 95 Ron and the general consensus is 98 all the way..

98 burns cleaner, more power & better fuel economy...

Only run 98 on MY07 and wouldn't even consider using 95

Thanks for the responses guys.

Mines not an STI, and has a 'use 95' on the filler, but I think I will stick to 98 anyway. Sounds like nothing to lose (apart from a few bucks a tank) and should be some gains in performance/mileage.

Cheers.
