Hi Guys

As most of you know, I am about to hope out of my current MY05 LGT into an MY 07 or MY 08 LGT.. (AUTO)

I finally got around to taking one out today.. and it was so SLOW!

Now, am I missing something? I understand 184KW vs 190KW and Auto vs Manual.. but I would have thought with the extra 500cc the off the line torque would have improved..

The only "power" modifications to my car are:

Mufflers
Intake Resonectemy
HKS Panel Filter..


Your thoughts?!!?!?!? Am I going crazy?

take mine for a drive and see what you think... I think you might find that its that fly by wire throttle that kills the MY07s

AFAIK The MY05 has Fly By Wire also..

2.0L twin scroll turbo vs 2.5L single scroll turbo

and

manual vs auto (im pretty sure manual is always quicker off the mark?)

Heh-heh. That's what I thought of the MY07 STi when I compare it to my MY05 GT (both autos). The MY07 Auto felt smoother and more confident, but less sporty and lively than the twin scroll 2.0.

Subaru claimed the extra 0.5 litres in the engine was meant for 'useable torque', which I'm guessing is more mid range power as well as being more linear. For me, I would describe it as a turbo with the spirit of a V6.

However it's still a great performer when you line it up against others in its class. If you're really keen, there's a lot of potential there, and it just takes a few choice mods to open it up.

Well I now own both.. (got the '07 this morning)

End of the week its getting:

HKS Panel Filter
Resenectomy
New Mufflers
18" Blitzen Rims
EBC Greens all around
Slotted rotors

And thanks to David an AVO TMIC..

After that I will look into a "PhatGT" DP and full tune

i think the dp and tune will help with the throttle response issue, or you can try the biltz throttle controller...... i hear they work a treat, on 6 spd not sure about autos

If they fit.. Ill take the following of the 05 and chuck it on:

Cusco Front Strut Brace & Brake Booster
WhiteLine F&R Adjustable Sway Bars
KG/MM lowering springs (only used the fronts in my wagon, the set I bought was for a sedan)

then wait for all the rattles to start damn rattles

sorry, jsut read your post again.. Blitz throttle controller? Does this override the normal Fly By Wire sensor for the throttle position?

its the same as the sprint booster, it still uses the same fly by wire throttle sensor, its just increases the current sent to the sensor, this unit is a straight plug and play fix, i know its was used on 07 tb sti along with boost controller and owners was happy with it, but this car was 6 spd.

its a better unit then the sprint booster cause its adjustable, with 3 fixed settings

The BITZ unit can be fitted to AUTO and M/T 5 or 6

I know that the sprintbooster isnt that popular here, but I have had it fitted for several months now and remember a noticeable diference when I first fitted it (I think I have got used to the better throttle response that I get now).

You're welcome to try my car or install my sprintbooster into yours for a test run to see what you think Chris
