Interchangeable Parts from Third gen WRX

Postby su88rz » Fri Apr 10, 2015 2:21 pm

I know things like the Turbo and TMIC are interchangeable between gen 4 liberty GT Speck B and the 2012-2014 wrx but what other things are? Would an after market dump pipe or air intake line up?
Reason I ask is I'm looking for after market bits second hand and it would be way easier to search WRXs then just libertys.

List of things I'm looking for.
-VF52 turbo
-TMIC
-BOV
-3" Turbo back exhaust
-Headers
-short shift for a 6MT & bushings
-Silicon intake
-Pitch Stop Mount
-suspension bushings in Polyurethane (or similar)

And probably some more useful stuff.

This is only based on my limited knowledge of wrx parts:
-VF52 turbo
I think the flanges may be different. WRX and Foresters usually interchange.

-TMIC
I think this may also not be interchangeable with liberties

-BOV
Good possibility check flange style.

-3" Turbo back exhaust
I think the brackets may be different for mufflers.

-Headers
probably ok, pretty generic as long as they are from the same engine (ej255)

-short shift for a 6MT & bushings
Yes but does require small amounts of modification. Info is here on forum and has been done.

-Silicon intake
Looks similar, possible

-Pitch Stop Mount
Looks ok!

-suspension bushings in Polyurethane (or similar)
probably, Not sure if youd want to buy these second hand anyway?

VF52 is a bolt-on replacement for a VF46, no changes required (aside from tune).

Correct, not interchangeable (at least not without mods so significant as to make it not worthwhile).

-BOV
Good possibility check flange style.

Some WRX ones are interchangeable, not STI ones. Mazda 3 MPS BOV also works.

-3" Turbo back exhaust
I think the brackets may be different for mufflers.

Dump pipes are basically identical. Mufflers are different (mount points and flanges), I suspect the mid-pipe is too (different length, Y is different).

-Headers
probably ok, pretty generic as long as they are from the same engine (ej255)

Yes, I believe that's correct.

Yes but does require small amounts of modification. Info is here on forum and has been done.

Yep, have seen this first hand - it's almost identical, but not quite. Workable with interchange of key components.

-Silicon intake
Looks similar, possible

Yep, these are interchangable with appropriate year WRXs.

-Pitch Stop Mount
Looks ok!

Can't comment on this one.

probably, Not sure if youd want to buy these second hand anyway?

Some of them are interchangeable, some are not. I agree though, go new here.

All compatible with 07-09 GT liberty except some bushings.
