Anything worth replacing with Trans out (Mounts/Bushes)?

Are there any wear items that are worth replacing when I get my Trans out to get the Centre Diff and Clutch replaced?

The mechanic will obviously look at bearings etc, but I was thinking more of Mounts/Bushes.

Even though they may not be fully worn, my car has 160,000km soon and if anything will enhance shifter feel etc, I'm all for it. Or is it noth worth it?

I just know the STi short shifter I installed made a BIG difference. I know that's a different assembly to my stock one, but it's a massive improvement imo.

Yeah I had thought about it, but the feedback on the Legacy GT forum is that the Noise/Vibration/Harshness is 'alarming'! . And something about being tractor like.
I like the way the car is, so that's probably not for me. But since I've only had it since the car had 150,000km, I was just wondering if they would bring back some crispness that it had when new. Or if they wear much at all.

I have the trans mount and the NVH is fine? (can't speak to the engine mounts) If you haven't done the pitch stop mount, you should do it now regardless.

Ah ok, interesting. Good to get different feedback. I've been reading up on the STi mounts (non Group N), they seem to be the best compromise.

Although, the normal STi ones may only be for the 5speed since iirc the US models never got the 6sp. Still looking into it...

Engine mounts drastically increase the NVH I think.
Have torque solution brand in my 5eat and although they have settled down a little since install, at the lights and slow speeds, you really feel the engine working away.

Shifter bushings and the like mentioned above would be the go, get that crisp feeling with the gears

Cool, thanks everyone . Yeah, I read that group N engine mounts increase NVH a lot more than the trans mounts and Pitch Stopper (the 3 group N items usually discussed together).

I already have an STi short shift assembly, and I love that! But the trans still feels a bit slopy in the way it moves around (the shifter feel itself is fantastic though).

So I decided to go with the STi trans mount for the 6 speed (half way between the stock GTB one and group N in stiffness). And since the Pitch Stopper only came in group N spec as far as I can see, and several people have said the stock one is stiff enough, I am just replacing it with a new stock unit .

Silly thought, but do the reverse switch while the gearbox is out.
If you haven't done one recently, that is.....it's a prick to do one while the gear box is in the car

Ah, yes. Excellent! Because my reverse switch is a bit intermittent (have to wiggle to gear lever to get the reverse cam to work).
