MY07 GT front mount intercooler

Postby gtspec » Thu Jul 17, 2008 12:11 pm

Hey Guys

Im still awaiting delivery of my car (fingers crossed it should be here before the end of week) its a MY07 GT SpecB

I am researching as much as possible all the mods i can have done to the car and one thing i havent seen much yet is Front mounted coolers?

Is there a reason for it, wether it being performance or looks? or just nobody has got around to it?

Is there any kits available and would you guys recommend it as i think it would look sweetttttttttt lol

All the cars that i know of that have this mod have no threads about them doing so...

Seriously, speak to Michael... he is a champ and will be able to answer all your questions.

Cheers

After a quick search for pics:

Fish's thread with his conversion

Arith's thread with pics of Jason, Brendon's conversions

The phat man's conversion

Use 'tmic' under search and you will find countless threads.

Oh nice, thanks Resonate

all of those have modified front bars.. you think it can be possible to do it without changing or cutting the stock specB front bar

you only need to cut out a small section of the centre out of the bar for clearence and also better air flow.

if you really want to improve the flow to the fmic, a gt bar has a larger intake then the gt b bar.

Hey Adam!

Havent had a chance to take a front on shot for ya but from the track day pics you can see it. But yeah this gives you an idea how it looks like with a stock GTB bar. I like the clean subtle look.

Even though it looks like there isnt much airflow, it performs way better then a larger TMIC and is much colder.

Might have to ask Leo if he has any front on shots.
