Stealth Liberty's

Postby peadya100 » Thu Jan 08, 2015 11:42 am

Has anyone else noticed that Liberty's must be completely stealth on approach to someone?
I've never owned a car that more people walk in front of in car parks because they don't seem to hear it coming.
It baffles me though as boxer engines arent the quietest on idle and even less so when they have a sports exhaust..... weird :? haha

People are idiots, news at 11 :)
That said - how is this specific to the 2.5T engine?

Well as you can see by my picture to the right -----> im driving a 2.5T. And different engine types might have different levels of engine noise so didnt want to make a general statement which would include engine types that might not experience the same thing.

I would have to agree as my 2.5i is pretty well silent, which after some past cars and bikes is nice, however im not going to lie and say I was a little disappointed not to have a nice subbie rumble

People seem to notice mine. The 3" exhaust and STI mufflers, plus my predication for keeping it in a low gear and blipping the throttle regularly may help! :)

I love the stealth look. Problem with me is that it doesn't sound stealth with the exhaust. Might need to get a mid fitted to change that. I was contemplating changing wheels too but may just keep the Spec B rims and just lowering the car a little to maintain a semi-stealth appearance.
Cheers

Must just be mine then haha
I have a 3" exhaust and after market mufflers... doesn't seem to make a difference... if I'm putting through an underground car park people will walk down the middle of the road and not hear me right behind them... has happened at least 50 times. They always seem shocked when they eventually see me or hear me lean on the horn hahaha

I had this happen everytime i drove the in carparks or slow speed areas. The H6 idles so quietly as stock so my excuse to mod the exhaust was obviously safety related. Passed with flying colours with the financial moderator

3 inch exhaust and muffles work a treat in multi-story carparks! 8)

Adam you gotta take that extra muffler out...that's why people are walking in front of your car. Either that or maybe turn your lights on haha
