Knocking sound best described

Postby Newbie GT » Tue Dec 30, 2014 10:25 am

Merry Xmas fellows

I've posted before re a slight knock noise well I thought I'd add to it.

It comes and goes aircon on or not. It occurs even on idel at times and positive I can hear it at about 2000rpm when cruising.

While the noise is present I open bonnet and engine is quiet as a mouse. More noticeable on pass side when sitting in seat listening for it.

I then go to the back of the car and can hear it through the right hand muffler the same noise effectively.

A reverberation?

Any ideas ? Thank you

Do you have a gen5 GT? I just bought one, and I get that knocking noise coming from the front passenger side when the car is hot. It happens at idle and when you turn the wheel slightly and the revs bump up a bit. You can't hear it from the engine!

Such a weird noise, I heard it on another gen5 GT as well. It must be something that opens up when the car gets hot. I took it to my mechanic and he said it must be a rock stuck in the exhaust that is vibrating when the metal heats up...right
