MY08 Lib STi - 155kW at wheels with tune

Planned to get exhaust, TMIC & tune to MY08 Lib STi.. butttt on the day exhaust & TMIC were a no go.. Exhaust wasn’t ready and they were sent the wrong damn TMIC.. So I just had the tune done and it was still a very noticeable +25kW improvement at the wheels (130kW to 155kW).. I cant believe how much difference the tune alone made..

The TMIC will be ready when I am next back in August. I am kind of glad the exhaust didn’t come in thou as I will do some more research into finding the quietest exhaust out there.. I am only looking at getting the dump & center pipe.. Any suggestions on a super quite exhaust?..

I also had some TEIN adjustable coil overs fitted, they were also sent the wrong parts initially so a one day job turned into three days and they forgot to tighten one of the break lines. It could have been a disaster as after the suspension was fitted I went for a very spirited drive out in the hinterland to test them out.. Then that night when I was heading into Broadbeach for dinner my breaks completely failed. It was only lucky that at the time I wasn’t going too fast and there was no one in front of me when I tried to stop for an orange light.. I brought the car back in the next day and told a few people off, they bled my breaks and tightened the break line and they work fine now.. Other than that little near miss, I am really pleased with the suspension. It handles like it should now. I had it dropped about 30mm and set the dampers on 6 (of 16).

Also dealers put my personalised plates on and the rear plate is so damn crooked...

130kW to start with... that can't be right?

Where did you get it tuned? What boost is it now running?

Any before and after pics?

Cheers
Daniel

130kw ATW sounds a little high, but not over the top.

I think the EJ20T in auto is ment to run anywhere from 115-125kw ATW as a standard car. So with the extra 500cc you should be getting a little more power. Especially with the STI tuned chip as standard.

I'm thinking the 130kW atw is on the low side.

I would have been expecting a figure of at least 140kW?

here was a dyno graph of my dyno graph awhile back, after I a very quick ecutek tune, we could of put more tuning into it, but since I was planning bigger turbo and stuff I told them to do basic tune.

the before graph, as my car is a 2L 130kw atw was including TMIC and HKS racing suction kit. 2.5L at 130kw without TMIC or intake mods sounds about right then. I consider the ultimate tunes dyno one of the most accurate around.

Oh yeah, since i'm not a supplier now,
Guess what the different between the 129.1KW on first graph, and 130.4KW on second graph?

Hint: It costed close to $2k

Please name the workshop, that is unforgivable.

I thought 130kW was a bit low being the STi tuned and all.. I was under the impression that the stock Lib GT-B put out about 130kW at the wheels.. I have the before and after dyno but with all my last minute rushing I left it back in Aust, will see if the tuner can email me a copy & I will post it up.. They raised boost one PSI..

Not sure I want to mention name of workshop, they normally do good work, it was pretty #%&*#@ thou.. I guess I am lucky that it wasn’t a whole lot worse..

The dealership also wrecked my front lower lip.. In the process of getting it sorted out now.. Not sure if I should really bother thou as I have scrapped it a few times myself since..

I will do the rest in stages now.. ie TMIC & retune (when back in mid July).. then exhaust & retune..

The showed me the break lines when I went back in, and both front break lines had a FRS (front right side) tag the lines, apparently the left break line was all twisted up to make it fit, so it had to be loosened and re-adjusted for the new suspension.. I will have to take some photos of it next time I am back in Aust..

So far the dealer had put number plate on very crooked & busted front lower lip.
Factory put wrong break limes on
Tuner was sent wrong TMIC & exhaust was not ready (paid $1000’s deposit about a month ago)
Suspension place was sent wrong suspension (one day turned into three) then left break line loose..

Its not a good start.. I may as well of bought a second hand car..
