The mufflers are more restrictive than the centre pipe, I can't see much point in doing this unless you are going to modify the mufflers for stealth exhaust

I wanted to connect to stock mufflers because I really don't want a loud car. Are you saying there is no point because the stock muffs are too restrictive?

The stock mufflers aren't that restrictive. They cost you 5kW or so.

The noise difference between stock mufflers and more open ones (STI, TCP, etc) is significant.

I've got Invidia Dump pipe, stock mid and Magnaflow mufflers. I get no drone on my auto but still get full noise under acceleration.

Keep the stock mufflers and start from the front of the exhaust (dump) and work back as your wallet can afford. This will give you the best performance gains and the least amount of noise difference.

Bare in mind stock exhaust mid and Y-pipe is one piece so consider this as if the HKS is mid only will require cut and weld (I believe).
