Upgrades help

Postby Subawu lova lova » Mon Oct 27, 2014 1:27 am

Hi all,
I've bin researching a lot about begginer mods etc and I have a good idea on the direction im going to head.
My question is what would u do to your stock gt-b performance wise if u had 10k burning a hole in your pocket?

Suspension first. I'd be talking to Owen about Shockworx(I say that, because I am). Replace the LCAs, replace rear swaybar mounts with heavy duty ones (with Shockworx, the idea is you don't need thicker sways).

Then, VF52, replace plastic hoses with silicon, 3" exhaust, tune. Upgraded TMIC or replace with a FMIC.

Some wheels (if you don't like the stockers, and upgraded brakes don't fit behind them either), and some brakes (Brembos, braided lines, good fluid).

$10k done and dusted.

^ would not have thought the stock steering wheel was mediocre enough to warrant $700 for a new one :O

i would go:
$1500-2000 TBE
$1000 new turbo
$130 fuel pump
$200 bov
$60 boost gauge
$1000 TMIC
$500-1000 tune.
$1200-2000 coilovers
$1000 new rotors, pads and SS brake lines
$200 short shifter

Save the rest for when you need to replace something like tires or services

Depends on your performance vs cosmetics view on life. I think this would get you a car around 200atw with braking and handling to match it. Which will be unreal compared to stock

*additional note, opt for second hand where applicable to save as much as possible. Just because you have 10k doesnt mean you have to spend it ;)
