BBB, the stock tune runs 100% on boost ;) It is a loggable parameter and fuel is the coolant, hence why they recommend keeping fuel level high enough to not empty the fuel bucket the fuel pump sits in :)

Better to do what's suggested in the links and run 10AWG wiring to the pump via a relay and the fpcm as per the accepted method. And do same for the grounds. STi controller upgrade for another 1/2 volt lol: Bust mythted. :P

brainy wrote:BBB, the fuel pump controller upgrade for our cars doesn't provide any benefit. The ecu sends the signal for what voltage to supply. It goes to the fuel pump relay and then forwards the signal to the FPC. It provides the same current to the fuel pump controller no matter what controller you use.

To get more current/voltage to the pump, you need to run a separate relay and wiring, which runs the pump at 100% all the time.

BBB Fuel pump controller upgrade mythbusted. :D

Benny I think it's a great idea....just trying to get the most bang for effort in, because I don't really need the extra 10% power. If I can gain it by simply changing for a new pump, fantastic. If the DW300 still doesn't have enough pull, then I'll look at the wiring.

My engine builder isn't worried about wiring, my tuner says pump is maxxed. Car made the power in the top 5% of what I've ever seen a dw65 make anywhere in the world, when it started leaning out.

Based on all that - I think it's safe to say that I need a larger pump  and thanks to a very generous person I will (very likely) be installing the DW300 with a PSR collar very soon (then drive it like a nanna for the fuel economy)

Thanks for all your help guys!

<table name="Fuel Pump Duty Medium Injector Duty Cycle" category="ALPHA Fuel Pump" type="3D" level="1" scaling="IDC">

Actually investing the time into finding these tables plus around 50 others for EVERY AUDM ECU and slowly adding my US / Euro / JDM customers as I go ;) I found them for Bruce as he would know and that is the 32bitbase.xml coding :) I wont be posting the addreses publicly :)

You're not clear on what you're trying to say?

Are you claiming you can make a dw65c flow for 320kwatw on e85?

About 80 or so, most end upgrading to a DW300, get rid of the in tank filter and got engine bay filter. I also dont just tune Subaru's with the DW65c ;)

Got any links? I am talking specifically on E85 as the title states....

On E85, there is quite a few cars that dont need a Subaru mid 11 AFR on full noise with E85. Leaner AFR on say an EVO-X on a GTX3071R bolt on...

If you want.links to a DW300 install, its not that hard actually. Straight hose from DW300 to the tank fitting and no more prefilter in the bucket

I was referring to running pumps at constant 100% being not a great idea for a street car.
The wiring and relay mods I'm suggesting keep the stock FPCM whilst delivering more voltage to the pump.
This to help whatever pump is used of its job unhindered. :)

I'll test all the components (pulled from a wreck) to see the actual differences. ;)

I wasn't sure if you were claiming those tables upped the power or not, so upon re reading your posts I decided not to give you grief over it :)

I try to only give you grief when you're really exaggerating.... Thanks for the helpful posts.

Wasn't after links for install, but what is the purpose of engine bay filter? Easier fitment/servicing?

I'd imagine the engine bay filter serves 2 purposes:

- to delete the in-bucket sock filter from the end of the longer upgrade pump, in turn keeping the pump inlet from bottoming out (as it can in the sock) on the base of the bucket...

- providing a higher flowing, more easily serviced, E85 specific filter...

Relocated filter has been something I had always thought would be a good idea and that more people would do it but being slightly uneducated in this area have never ventured or looked very far into it

Was half asleep when I posted, there is nobody on a forum that has done it so I should explain that there is no links... simply because it shouldnt need one. I do it for a few guys in person since it is reasonably easy to do. Next time I do one(plan is for end of August) then I will detail a build.

Basics:

DW300 or Aeromotive 340 etc outlet goes directly via EFI hose to the fitting on the tank top that the factory filter outlets to.

Fuel line exiting the firewall gets a n inline fuel filter with a factory fuel line clip on adaptor

I'm looking forward to this, although I have changed my in tank filter it would be nice to relocate it to the engine bay eventually.

Found a much easier and possibly safer way to get things to work/fit

As usual MSR ended up being the first to suggest it weeks ago....also thank you to brainy for his advice :)
