If you drive it "semi hard" what does it do.??

IE if you give it 1 or 2 WOT applications and pull over and check the coolant then?? Should be up towards the top and bubbling.

Ahh good, it looked promising. I've got heaps of fluid so I can do a few checks.
Yeah it went through many cycles during me trying but nothing..

1 or 2 wot doesn't really change much the issue is you need to take coolant out of the reservoir (not overflow) to do the test because sucking up coolant makes the test pointless.

I might get a vacume pump so I can do as you said. Take it for a few squirts pull over and somehow open my cap without dousing myself in hot coolant, pump out enough and hopefully it will still be bubbling.

Tested it onto the exhaust and it worked fine.

Have to somehow get my coolant to bubble. Which is difficult with the fact it has to be driven hard and the coolant is hot. Obviously. So it sprays everywhere when I open to do the test haha

Your coolant doesn't have to boil to use those.

When i did my head gaskets , if i cruised around it was fine. But didnt like the stop, switch off and drop kids off then start it up again and i would get the waterfall sound in behind the dash.

Then it started bubbling in the overflow bottle after a squirt or 2. Then it just did it all the time as it just got worse and threw CEL's.

So if you have bubbling or filling of the tank it will probably just be a matter of time.
