Sean - Any idea on what kind of power gains could be had with the VF52 on the Foz?

200kWatw is common on a VF52. And a WHOLE lot of fun :D
E85 makes lots more ;)

Thanks mate, thats a killer increase.

So agree with this and your whole post. The average enthusiast on this forum should be taking this advice.

Don't entirely agree on more throttle response, perhaps if you are talking under peak airflow where there may actually be a restriction otherwise it ain't getting there any faster. Basic physics would say a larger void between turbo and throttle body should increase the time it takes to reach peak boost (perceived lag) but I am sure on a TMIC this would be minor as piping is still short and core isn't that much bigger. On the exaggerated scale, big core FMIC with big piping will certainly reduce response down low and mid-range (all other things being equalled). I have experienced this first hand going from factory WAIC to FMIC on old Liberty.

Dyno results were quite a surprise... gains more than I was expecting.

Appologies about the dodgy torque graph - I didn't get a torque before/after overlay so did this in photoshop.

Both torque and power increased over the entire range. Just over 50nm torque gain, and about 15kw gain over the entire graph.

Nice work mate. That is reasonable gains. The beauty about this is that you'll more consistent power now.

Do you know what the boost difference is between old and new tune?

Don't have them overlayed, but no changes to boost...

(note: the dyno reads a bit higher than my ECU by about 2 psi)

Peak boost is identical, but if you noticed the PW tune holds the higher boost for longer, which is partly where you're getting that awesome increase in torque from :)

Congrats! That looks great. :bb:

Oh that boost graph is a bit misleading. The PW dyno graph starts at 40km/h and the original graph starts at 60km - so i think they are actually fairly close. Will scan the graphs and do a proper comparison later...

That is a great result overall. I didn't think you would get 192Kws out of a VF46 even if the Dyno is a happy one ;). Does it feel like the it pulls harder up top? Do you know what was changed in the tune?

When driving the car, it doesn't feel significantly more powerful. I would have thought 15kw would be more noticeable.

The main tweaks to the tune from what I can see in ECUFlash are slightly more fuel earlier on (including tip-in), slightly less timing, and a few minor tweaks to the wastegate tables.

From the HD graphs - the boost IS a tad higher and definitely gets held for longer. Which is what you want to do, as the cooling capabilities and core size have both increased - can run and hold more boost for the same knock threshold, perfect example of a mod that frees up power.

What fuel is this on (P100 from memory?). That torque curve looks fantastic (well done!), do you feel the difference?

PS. IMO get your tuner to fix that 'dip' in the torque and power and the boost fluctuation. Your tuner brags about how smooth his power delivery is - get him to deliver!

P98 fuel... cant get p100 down here :/
Have Tactrix logs from the dyno runs for Matt (tuner) to look at... will ask about the "dip" :)
