It was $1500 about a year ago when the AUD was stronger than it is now.

Cool looking turbo, which version of the sl2?

Not much point comparing the two though..Rob has a bone stock engine and Alex has ARP2000's holding his together iirc. Even that is not "Head-Lift-Proof" on E85/TD06 (maybe on lower boost, 20ish?)...hopefully he has a good tuner and not one with a reputation for boost spikes....

8cm2
My old big stock engine was run on 23.8 psi on 98 by Scott, then on E85 by Matt. That engine is now in pieces with my engine builder, confirmed no lifted heads, no spun bearings, no cracked rings, 100% healthy. So I'm not sure what you're trying to imply. My car is living proof that the only thing holding you back is the size of your jewels. I've actually tried to blow it during a track day in December. 38 degrees, almost 45 degree track temp, 11 laps at full throttle and still no bang.

Indeed it is.

It's good to hear yours was healthy...valid point. What takes away from it is that you're saying this after you were concerned enough (with whatever symptom it obviously had) to pull the whole engine apart.

Others have reported oil and bubbles in their coolant on a 20G, after running it for a year.

There's clearly a difference in our standards in regards to longevity. How long did you run your engine on that E85 setup? 6 months?

Reading Ian's, Mick's, Justin's, Chook's and Dan's threads - it certainly doesn't look like the size of their jewels helped their engines one bit. :(

Ps. What I said earlier are just the words of a man who knows a thing or two about these engines. I'm repeating them in the hope that Alex knows to be careful.

From the HD graphs - the boost IS a tad higher and definitely gets held for longer. Which is what you want to do, as the cooling capabilities and core size have both increased - can run and hold more boost for the same knock threshold, perfect example of a mod that frees up power.

What fuel is this on (P100 from memory?). That torque curve looks fantastic (well done!), do you feel the difference?

PS. IMO get your tuner to fix that 'dip' in the torque and power and the boost fluctuation. Your tuner brags about how smooth his power delivery is - get him to deliver!

It is the dyno actually, EVERY car that was on the dyno did it ;)

In this case, it was not helped by ramp speed being set too high for start. It would of already been on nearly full boost by that start speed!

Also, boost is up but timing is down. I could add another degree of timing with ease. The car also has per gear boost control so it runs less boost in 4th gear than 3rd gear so with 3rds extra psi of boost everywhere and a Mainline dyno power output being consistent between gears, power comes up roughly by 4 to 6Kw. The torque limiters on RomRaider I revealed see some significant results ;)

Awesome results kim, I didn't realize using the bigger IC would give you just hy of the 200 mark ;)

Possibly will also have a dyno sheet before/after (car is already tuned with the current mods (cold air intake and exhaust).

I knew I should have got a H6... the GT's are too easy to modify :(

Did you go for the black version?
