Throttle Motor for GT Speb B my06

Postby Reptile-X » Sat Jun 07, 2014 10:13 pm

Hey guys,

I am getting throttle errors (on my car which shuts down the cars engine with the eng/cruise lights on...(throttle actuator range/performance (bank 1))
After some reach on the error and taking it to the mechanic, it seems I am up for a new throttle motor...

I got pricing off Denlo Subaru and after hearing $1800 just for the part I went surfing around.
It seems the part is mainly available online thorough the US, anyone got ideas where I can find a throttle 16112AA230?

Best I could find was on ebay for $530US... http://www.ebay.com/itm/181117059016?item=181117059016&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:X:eRTM:MOTORS:1123&vxp=mtr

Another question is am I better off getting an after market throttle as the mechanic was kind of suggesting it may fail again due to my MODS on the car.
Not sure if this is true or just covering himself?

Thanks in advance....

Or i got ALOT of my oem stuff from www.celticmotorsport.com, i just sent the my VIN number and got all my bits that were correct and awesome prices. They also do all the aftermarket stuff.

Have you got the FSM: factory service manual?
Find the DTC procedure and the location of the relay in the harness schematics :)

Can shape part in the glovebox ??? do they mean the fuses under the steering?
I did change the fuse on for the fuel and had no luck, I don't think I am going to be that lucky.

The problem is there as soon as I turn the car on and most time I need to pump the accelerator so the car starts....seems like it is cutting the fuel straight away....

Have you added any new mods to the car recently? Have you done any maintenance? Replaced any hoses, BOV etc?

I've seen this before and it's been tune related.

In the example I'd seen it was due to the tune requesting the throttle remain slightly open at 0 requested torque to maintain idle due to a leaky hose or BOV. When the leak was fixed the ECU didn't like the throttle open setting and threw a CEL and wouldn't start.

Just something worth considering.

What Bruce said: was the car retuned for the mods?
Is the tune locked?

If it's not the tune (it probably is though) find the relay:

Pulse has long history of dangerous tunes.

Apart from over inflated dyno figures, you should monitor your tune cause you wouldn’t want to end up with major engine issues.

Not meaning to scare you, but I’m speaking from experience and a number of members here have many issues with locked ECU’s which can’t accessed by other tuners and ongoing tune related issues.

Firstly 195kw is grossly overturned/inflated for the mods you have…….. you’d be lucky to putting out more than 160kw…….. Pulse has lame trick of tweaking the dyno for big numbers, a member here once pulled 200kw from 08 tb sti, without a single mod, not even an air filter.

Secondly Pulse should be able to diagnose the issue since the car was tuned by them, but this were you get to experience the Pulse way of doing things.

That is good to know, who is a trustworthy tuner in Sydney???? i am willing to take it in to get it fixed/retuned.....
As it stands the car barely starts and if it does i can't accelerate as the car does not move.

Garage88 at Eastern Creek. MSR on the Central Coast. Matt (Kido Tune) does remote work if you have a Tactrix cable and can send him logs/etc (though he may need to have physical access to unlock the ECU if it has been locked).

DJC_Ryan had similar issues with his auto tune
