Problems after disconnecting battery

Postby metalfx » Wed May 07, 2014 9:39 pm

Hey Guys,

I changed out all my front globes today, and because I changed my indicators and parkers I removed my battery for access. Now when I start up my car the cruise light is blinking, I-Drive can't be changed and is blinking in S mode, the engine light is on, and the traction light is on.

Any ideas on what may have cause this and how I can fix it without needing to take it to Subaru to get them to clear the codes??

Cheers,

Adam

your car has popped a cel? fault code will help what is causing it? what else did you disconnect? and/or move?

how long did you disconnect the battery for? is your battery healthy?

1/ find someone who has a laptop and a tactrix to clear fault? and find out what fault is?
2/ spend fark all $$$$ on ebay and get a obdII dongle and use your phone and download torque to see fault and clear it?
3/ turn the key from off to ign about 4-6 times....then turn it off.....then start the car? this can clear the fault .... i think that's the order...

The battery was disconnected for about 30mins, and I plugged the MAF plug as I took out the air box. Never had a problem with the battery, all the lights work and when I started the car it did a software update and set up the Sat nav.

Yeah it's plugged in and there was nothing that could have blocked it.

Did you drop the MAF? check how you installed everything back together, see if anything looks out of place

did you happen to test you lights before you installed your air box?
i forget to connect my maf back up all the time, it will throw a code even if you just turn to on and don't crank.
i just reset it with my tactrix or ecu datascan and remind myself not to be a derp next time

I had the exact same problem when I did my LED conversion to my lights. I disconnected my battery like you did, put the LED lights and control units in, then reconnected the battery with the airbox out. I only turned the key to reds (ON) to test the lights to make sure that they all worked because I was thinking to myself "fk pulling all that out again!". Anyways, put everything back together, started the car and had the exact same CEL and lights flashing. All I did was start the car 5 times in a row and the CEL went away.
