Just go a pod of some form. One of the AVO ones or a K&N Hurricane I think there were called. Honestly, the noise into too bad. I have a 4" inlet turbo and a pod hiding under the battery and you wouldn't know the thing was modified more than an exhaust unless someone pointed it out.
I does make a 'little' noise as at the turbo spins up though.
Try and find a 2nd hand one; worse case you can flip it for what you paid for it.
Kinda flush. Fitment is something. ADM as F*ck.

Couldn't have said this better...pod noise is so minimal, I don't know what everyone carries on about.

I also have an AVO pod/inlet for sale :D

Hi guys it appears the hks air filter seems to seal very well IMO ...

Any other updates? Maybe hks came out with another revision ?

Appreciate your comments if they are genuine

No issues with HKS seal, I think they put some foam around the edge now. Just installed mine yesterday, seeing how it goes.

Had a K&N before, definitely does the job. Long as you don't over-oil it's fine also. Keeping that as a spare for now!

Did you get much increase in noise? And have you noticed any increase in dust or fine sand?

Anyone have any data on the power limitations of the stock air filter vs hks or other drop in panels? Air filters I consider to be a throw away item. Having said that I do wash the air filter on my bike but I've got a few and rotate them around. From memory I thought about 220kw was about where you needed an alternative air filter.

The idea is to stay stock to avoid the added complication (related to the tune and correct install) and noise...
Until you "need" it when you want to push past 200-220kw atw... Or you just want more noise and complication. :P

Dom GTSTi has modded his stock air box for more noise, it sounds good, not too overbearing, but I haven't seen the mod and suspect he now has a stock, hot air intake...

Pulling the airbox resonator out gives a nice little increase in noise. I blocked the hole off.
Oh and for reference 227kw was achieved on my car on Monday running the standard filter element. And my AFR's were spot on so it it is safe to use.
