I have an OBD monitor that digitally shows boost in second gear hitting a peak of 18psi and in3rd gear its hitting approx 16.5psi, not sure how accurate this is compared to a mechanical gauge?
Seems like vf 52 is the way to go to try an ahcieve the 200kw mark?
Will tuning it with Kido get me more power? its got a verso tune at the moment, just wondering how easy it is to swap between the verso and kido and vice versa?
dont want to go e85 becuase of the limited availability of e85 in Perth.
Just another question: my invidia downpipe sounds a bit raspy at 1500rpm on a cold start, sounds seems to be coming from underneath driver side door, is this normal?
VF52 will get you very close to 200kW on 98.
I wouldn't use either ASG or Kido. I would contact Eric at Torqued Performance for your tuning; cheaper than both and his results speak for themselves; not to mention his turn around time for revisions on the tunes.
Eric's turn around time is amazing, and he IS very good, safe tunes that give you powa and driveability. However....you need your own tactrix cable, and a basic knowledge of RomRaider and EcuFlash. And hopefully a basic understanding of how your turbo + engine + ecu work (if you want to be able to deal with problems that may arise). These blokes sound like they're fairly new to subie's and modifications....
I suggest they're not ready for e-tuning, especially as it sounds like a workshop will be installing their parts.
But if they have the guts to learn about it, it may be far better in the long run than letting some workshop hack up your car.
Ps. Vf52 can easily get you over 200kw. The point is - tuning a car isn't about the peak kW number....a vf52 can take you to 233kwatw, but it doesn't mean you'll enjoy the car. If all the tuner talks to you about is "the kw we can make" and how it's a "fully safe tune", or "sorry we just couldn't get more kw out of it" and they can't explain why....find a better tuner and do some reading about tuning.
