You are doing the Turbo inlet pipe yourself?

Good luck :)

Newbster. If there was one job I was to say not to DIY for your first attempt. It is this one.
It can be done, don't get me wrong. I did mine at the same time as changing my turbo, so my level of DIYness might be a bit higher than yours. As I sit here typing this I am trying to figure out what would be the hardest part; getting the pipe onto the compressor inlet, or getting the blow off valve return in and fastened. I was also aided by the fact I run an FMIC, so I didn't have to remove the TMIC and plumbing, and my turbo compressor out let is on the bottom and points to the right hand side of the car, ergo not in the way.
Maybe look at booking into the phat man on this one.

Ian.

AVO have a how-to for their inlet pipe on the AVO site.
But I have to agree, it might be a cinch for a pro and a lotta hurt for the inexperienced.

I'm fairly sure a re-tune is required too, so I'd hold off till you're ready on that front too.

Strewth!
Needless to say I'll be allocating at least one very long day to do this plus TB hose, TMIC clean, SG AOS, STi pitch stop and etc.

A hot tip is to substitute greasing the silicone ends for hairspray, which will lubricate when wet for fitting and seal the join when dry.

I find saliva works really well, for a lot of things. Plus it's free unless you a massive night the night before.

I can only imagine you shared a prison cell with MacGuyver.

I'm not going to attempt this until I can identify all the various piping and hoses around the inlet mani ;)

If you are not taking the manifold off the nightmare is the blow off valve return.
