First Dyno of MY07 GT Spec B

Posts specific to the 2.5 litre turbo engine

Got a Haltech Interceptor installed and tuned today!

First let me say that Paul from pulse racing is excellent to deal with and really seems to know his stuff, highly recommended.

My Car:
MY07 GT EAT

My car has been transformed!!! This is how it should come from the factory.
I have done no other mods and now have 160kw atw.
It pulls better right through to rev limiter and has that nice throw back feeling.
I was very disappointed with the car until today....Now I'm happy.

I've attached the dyno chart for everybody's viewing.

The Halltech supply, fit & tune was around $1700.
It basically took a day to do the job.
The SI drive still works as before and the improvement works on all three settings.
I can actually drive the car in 'I' mode now and it doesn't feel like the throttle is relaying a message to the ECU via delayed satellite.
You really notice the torque difference when in 3rd with low engine revs, the car seems to pull a lot stronger where before the tune I was always changing back to 2nd to get the thing going.

All though I've only had it for a day, fuel economy seems to be better going off the trip computer.

keep us posted on how it goes over the next few weeks, it's impressive knowing it doesn't really mess with the SI settings much.

What are the gear changes with the AT like, nice and crisp but smooth?

Gearing down is pretty good but up shifting is a little slow in manual mode.
When I mean slow, you need to hit the paddle about 1 second before you want it to change, it auto up shifts when you hit the rev limiter anyway, so most the time you only need down shifting unless you want to short shift.

I was hoping it would be more like the BMW M3 style auto, where when in manual mode it's really sporty, probably better than a manual. I know I'm comparing a $140K car to a $55K car but I'd pay an extra $5K if it were an option.
I drive everyday on the M5 car park, if it wasn't for that I would definitely have gone for the manual.

Followed Bob's lead now tuned, car is transformed!

Intelligent = Cleaned up and tuned to run on 95
Sports = Better than S# ever was
Sports # = Head back in the seat and rear end squats and it goes.

Same place as Bob, Pulse Racing. Will get around to scanning the graphs one day. Car was tuned on a different dyno to Bob's but the result kw wise was about the same but torque was higher at lower RPM's due to the exhaust.

Feel free to PM me for any other details.[/url]

sorry to go back to the first post of this thread, but what sort of dollars did the exhaust system cost you? and what size was the system?

thanks mate

I am interested in how you get away with 95ron fuel? Did you have it tuned for that? I was under the impression the Lib GTs had to be fed 98ron. Sorry if it is a little off topic.

Great result with the Haltec though.

Nope, the GT-B uses 95. (Thank God) :)

8) Bob.
