HKS Panel Filter and Resonater Removal

I have had my stock panel filter replaced with a HKS item.

It now has more suction during take off and i have an awesome stock bov noise when i back off.

Definately a worthwhile mod and alternative option to a panel.

Would like to mention a special THANKS to Mike for doing the install and organising the parts. Took only 20 mins.

Mike promised delivery by the 29th in which it came on the 23rd.

Had mine done by Mike two days later. Once again thanks Mike for the install and the good service.

Phil only while driving earlier today with the window up did I hear the noise of the turbo spooling up that you described.

Without wanting to hijack your thread Phil, here are a couple of pics.

The Filter



The Resonator once removed. No need to pull the wheel or the cover off the inner guard, it came all out from the top.



If any one has one of these hanging around I would be happy to take it off your hands.

Yeah u notice it more with the windows up Dave. Its jus a louder induction noise that it should of had from the begining.

Question: if you just replaced the stock one with the same shape and size..? panel filter why did it take 20mins.. I went down to a performance shop the other day they have them there (I haven't got one yet), but I pulled my filter out to see if it was the same size, which it was. it didn't take 20mins... Just wondering if it was the same one... And how much..??

it took 20 minutes cause in order to remove the resonator you need to remove the entire airbox and unclip the resonator. If you plan on just replacing the filter it'll take you a few minutes only. to remove the airbox you'll need to unscrew the two bolts at bottom of airbox and one at the top close to the headlights, then you'll be able to wiggle the box out.

Phil, you could at least provide the man with proper working conditions, bit hard to install your sway bars in the dark with a torch.

Sway bars in the dark? geez you treat mike so nice...
We did boost controller, ripping bits of engine out in the dark with the pen torch while it was pissing down rain.....
