Are the STI shift kits worth it as they replace all the bits n peices

I do need to replace the knob and the thing you lift to select reverse

So which one would be better?? Taking into account shipping parts I need to replace and if I get the STI one I'll need a mechanic to install it..

I like mine but I haven't tried any others for the sake of comparison.

Gambit had the COBB in his wagon (RIP), i sat in it and touched the knob a little. It felt good. Nice and tight.

Mind / gutter / get your head out of.

There is three sti shifter mechs

One is just the increased leverage ratio
One has a taller stick and ball jointed completely
And last one has a taller stick again and a forward lever that interferes with factory dash trims etc.

All are a thousand times better than wanker products like cobb.

I'm a little confused but that are you saying there are 3 diff types or 3 diff moving mech parts to the unit???

I've got the Cobb one, about to put some new bushings in f+r and considering this will still be cheaper all up than the Sti unit, plus I get dual adjustability height + throw I just can't see the fuss over the Sti one. Granted, I havnt driven a liberty with the Sti unit fitted so maybe I am missing something haha

Because noone cares for height, they care for leverage ratio. The higher the stick the better. The STI is designed to retain that height, and increase leverage, whilst increasing bearing size so that you dont need to be hulk hogan to move it. Is nearly perfect, what is already one of the best shifting 6 speeds ever made for a production car is just made better yet again with the shifter mech.

Somewhere along the line, yanks decided short shifter should mean a little short gearknob thats even further away from where your hands should be (6 & 9). Morons.

I can recommend the GFB one. Its really worth every cent. Infinite adjustment and feel really nice when you dial it in. They even give you the pin extractor required to replace the reverse lever.

The above - first mod done to my GTB and a VAST improvement over the stock. Same height, better feel and shorter throw.

All this short lever stuff is just rubbish.
